The mission is in need of volunteers and school supplies. For the past few years the mission has participated in LA city’s block party where they pass out hundreds of stuffed backpacks to kids in need. 

 

This year they are expecting over 500 backpacks. They are still in need of supplies such as pencils, erasers and notebooks and people to stuff them. For the back to school bash, volunteers are needed to help run game booths, pray for people at the prayer booth, and pass out backpacks.

 

We are asking for those who would like to help and volunteer for Saturday, August 4th and Saturday, August 11. The volunteer hours start at 9am. The backpacks will be stuffed at Harvest Tabernacle in Eagle Rock. The back to school bash will take place at the Mission on 5th St. in downtown LA.

Those who would like to donate supplies you may bring your supplies this Tuesday night or Wednesday Bible study. Cash donations are also welcome! We will go out and purchase supplies and take those on Saturday.
